Blockhouse in Baldwins Gate is a family friendly Parogon venue, noted for the most amazing food from our famous smokehouse themed menu.

Not your average restaurant

You’ll find Blockhouse is kind of unusual in being a nicely laid-back place where the kids can enjoy doing their thing while you have a drink and work up an appetite exploring the irresistible dishes on our extensive menu. Let the little ones get creative with one of our colouring books, or get the family together to watch the footy with live sports shown in the bar.

A taste of our kid’s menu

We know kid’s appetites can be changeable. That’s why we have options for small and big appetites meaning that their tummies are always full and you can avoid too many leftovers.

For bigger appetites, choose between Battered Haddock, BBQ ribs, Steak or even have fun building your own burger with our Build a Burger option. Ideal for fussier eaters.

For kids with smaller appetites there’s Hot Dog in a brioche roll with ketchup and fries. Or how about some real tasty Crispy Chicken Tenders with barbecue dip and fries.

Children’s Sunday lunch

If you’re visiting on a Sunday. Get the whole family involved and go for our Sunday lunchtime Family Feast platter, and you can all dive into a spread of luscious, juicy and beautifully cooked roast beef, smoked ham hock and half smoked chicken speciality dishes. Perfect to share with your big and little ones!

Or opt for one of our hearty children’s dishes of delicious roast beef served with creamy mash, seasonal veg, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. And they’ll also get a bottomless supply of Pepsi, lemonade or juice to go with it.

Who said what about desserts?

Oh, go on then. Chocolate Brownie with Chocolate Sauce, vanilla ice cream. Kids Vanilla Pot with some crazy toppings (like bubblegum crunch, mini fudge and sugar unicorns). Sticky Toffee Pud with a dollop of toffee sauce, a choice of ice cream, or custard.
